Last in the series on Nature’s Hunters, Birds of Prey. A hawk, a falcon, and finally, an owl sat on my arm courtesy of the Gauntlet provided by the experts at Dalhousie Castle in Scotland several years ago. They are warm and like being stroked. As the falconry guide said, however, they are now and always, Birds of Prey. Letting the birds fly to the forest edge a few hundred feet away and putting fresh meat on the gauntlet was all that was necessary to call the bird back. All these noble creatures have piercing eyes.
