This painting of Colby at nine is the result of my paint a portrait in a day workshop which I lead; this was my product. A 12″ x 9″ portrait of my granddaughter at 9 years of age on canvas in oil. This was painted on a fixed sketch and imprimatura.
She has the attitude of looking right through you and asking, ‘What are you made of? Can I trust you?” She has spunk in the attitude, however, which intimates she is leading from a strong position.
Colby and her granddaughter are real partners in art. She helps me and calls my studio, j’Originals, c’Originals for me and her.
